  • Underpass Illuminated

    1st Street SW Underpass
    Calgary, Alberta, Canada

    1st Street SW Underpass, the busiest in a city of 1.2MM people, is the primary corridor between the Beltline Community and Downtown welcoming nearly 10,000 pedestrians daily. Beneath century-old CP Rail station and tracks, the underpass was dark, wet, and uninviting; pedestrians quickened pace through passage.

  • BKLYN Learned

    CUNY Brooklyn College – Whitehead Hall
    Brooklyn, NY

    They said it couldn’t be done. City University of New York Whitehead Hall had undergone a 1990’s-era lamp and ballast replacement, to T8 and electronic ballasts. When considering an upgrade to new lighting technologies and controls, state agencies believed that achievable energy savings could not justify the costs. But, this was no typical lamp and ballast upgrade.

  • The Lions Awaken

    Centre Street Bridge Calgary, Alberta

    Calgary’s Centre Street Bridge is approaching its centennial year in 2016 and this sandstone structure defines a major, Centre City, thoroughfare.

    LDI designers were challenged to create a respectful acknowledgement of this heritage asset after dark.  Featuring the structure through illumination, provides a visitor experience at night that is different than the daytime experience while preserving the original intent of the structure’s ornamentation.
